Terms of use

BetU lets friends dare each other and take sides with points. Points are free, can’t be bought, sold, transferred or cashed out, have no monetary value, and may be reset at any time. BetU is a game between friends, not gambling, a lottery or a prediction market for money.

You must be 18 or older. One account per person. You’re responsible for anything done from your account and for keeping your sign-in to yourself.

Nobody has to accept a dare, and you can give up on one at any time. If you accept a dare, you do so voluntarily and you accept all risk of taking part in it. BetU never requires, suggests or rewards dangerous activity, and you agree not to create, accept or back dares that could get anyone hurt, break the law, involve alcohol or drugs, target someone’s body or identity, or involve anyone under 18.

Dares that break these rules can be removed and accounts closed without notice.

Results are decided by the group’s judges from the proof posted, following the app’s rules. Decisions are final inside the game. Points can be reversed if a result was rigged, a dare broke the rules, or an account was shared.

You keep ownership of what you post (videos, photos, text, chat messages). You give BetU a licence to store, process and show it to your group, and on a public receipt only if you turn that on. Proof videos are deleted after 30 days. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share, or that shows someone who didn’t agree to be shown.

You can change your name, download your data and delete your account from the account page. Deleting signs you out everywhere, takes you out of your groups and ends any live dare on you as a give-up; your name, email and sign-ins are erased after 30 days, and signing back in before then restores your account and groups. Deletion waits until any dare on you that is being judged has settled. Dares and bets you were part of stay visible to your group under “Deleted user”, so other people’s results still make sense.

BetU is provided as is, during a pilot. We don’t promise it will always work or that points, groups or dares won’t be lost or reset. To the extent the law allows, BetU and the people who build it aren’t liable for any loss or injury connected to using the app or taking part in a dare.
